Nick Matusevich: DAPDI

The opportunity LMS offered to me to visit Dapdi was really valuable. It was a two week debating camp with trainers from Oxford and debaters from around Europe. Their support allowed me to even imagine going in the first place to the Netherlands for debate events, where I as a student debater don’t easily have support from Latvian institutions to educate myself and compete internationally. This was also really valuable, because now I feel more competent to teach debate back in SSE Riga, having experienced various approaches by world class debaters.
So if you have academic aspirations to improve yourself and your community, LMS can offer the much needed support. It is due to them I feel more able to argument, know about the workings of our justice system, environmental impact, identity politics and other topics – because without the funding for Dapdi camp I may have not had the exposure to other youth interested in this topic.
